The Party Matchmaking system lets you publish your party to a server-wide list so other players can join without waiting for a direct invite from the leader. Matchmaking only handles the meeting point; once a player joins, the normal party rules (capacity, membership, candidates) take over. ===== Accessing the Matchmaking System ===== You can open Matchmaking in two ways: * Type the in-game command ''[matchmaking''. * Double-click a **Party Matchmaking System** stone. The stone is immovable, named "Party Matchmaking System", uses item id ''3804'' (flipable to ''3803''), and is hue ''74''. Both entry points open the Matchmaking window. ===== Browsing and Joining ===== The Matchmaking window lists every party currently waiting for members, paginated at **7 entries per page**. Use **Next Page** and **Previous Page** to move through the list when more parties are listed. Each row shows: * The party leader's name. * The current member count (defaults to ''1'' if the leader has not formed a party yet). * A **Join Party** button. Clicking **Join Party** runs the following checks, in order: - You must not already be in a party ("You are already in a party."). - You cannot join your own Matchmaking listing ("You cannot join your own Matchmaking party."). - If you have your own Matchmaking listing, you must remove it first ("You must remove your own party from Matchmaking if you wish to join another party."). - Criminals cannot join ("Criminals may not join a matchmaking party."). - If the leader has no party yet, one is created automatically when you join. - If you already have a pending invite from outside Matchmaking, the join is refused and you are told the invite is still pending acceptance. - If the combined total of current members and pending candidates already meets the party capacity, the party is full; you are told so and the listing is removed automatically. On a successful join, every existing party member sees the broadcast: "''{playername} has been added to the party via Matchmaking.''" The hard party-size cap is **10 members**. ===== Creating a Matchmaking Listing ===== If you are not already listed, the Matchmaking window shows a **Create Matchmaking Party** button. The create window in the current build shows only **Okay** and **Cancel** buttons; the "Murderers Allowed" and "PvM/PvP" type selectors are not displayed. Accepting the create window publishes your party with the default values (Type defaults to ''1'' because the PvM option is not rendered). To publish a listing, you must meet these requirements: - You must not already have a Matchmaking listing ("Your party is already in Matchmaking."). - If you already have a party, you must be its leader ("Only the party leader can add your party to Matchmaking."). - Your existing party must not already be full ("Your party is already full."). Each listing records the leader, whether reds are allowed, and a type field (''0'' = PvM, ''1'' = PvP). Two world broadcasts are sent at hue ''173'': * If the leader already had a party: "''{playername} has entered their party into Matchmaking.''" * If the leader had no prior party: "''{playername} has opened a Matchmaking party.''" ===== Removing a Listing ===== If your party is currently listed, the Matchmaking window shows **Remove Your Party From Matchmaking?** in place of the create button. Selecting it removes your listing and sends the message "''Your party has been removed from Matchmaking.''" If your listing is removed automatically because the party filled up, the message is instead: "''Your party has been removed from Matchmaking, because it is now full.''" ===== Automatic Cleanup on Logout ===== When you log out, any Matchmaking listing you own is removed automatically. No notification message is sent at logout. ===== Rewards ===== Matchmaking does not award anything on its own. It only helps players assemble into a party. Any rewards, loot, or quest credit come from whatever the party does afterward and are handled by the regular party, loot, and quest systems.
