The Gold Raffle is a server-wide weekly drawing. Players pay gold from their bank to enter; at the scheduled draw time, a single winner is selected at random from the entry list and receives the entire prize pool. Purchases made through The Emporium and other For Sale vendors can add additional gold to the prize pool on each sale.
Entry
Entry cost: 10,000 gold per entry, taken from your bank box.
How to enter: Double-click a Gold Raffle stone (item “Gold Coin Raffle”, item ID 0xED4, hue 2125). A gump opens; click Buy Entry to pay the cost and be added to the entry list.
Per-character limit: Up to 100 entries per character per drawing. Further entries are rejected once a character has 100 entries in the list.
Per-IP limit: Up to 100 entries per source IP address per drawing. The IP table is cleared at each drawing.
Disabled state: If the raffle is disabled, the stone reports “This raffle system is currently disabled” and no gump opens.
Prize Pool
Each entry adds the entry cost (default 10,000 gold) to the current prize.
The Emporium / For Sale contribution: When an item managed by the For Sale system is purchased, additional gold is added to the prize pool:
If the item has a configured raffle contribution greater than 0, that amount is added.
Otherwise, price * 20000 gold is added.
After each donation a Discord broadcast announces “Lord British has donated N gold to the gold raffle!”
The pool resets to 1,000,000 gold after a successful drawing.
Drawing Schedule
Recurrence: The raffle runs on a seven-day cycle.
Next draw timestamp: Computed as today plus seven days at 17:00 (5:00 PM) server-local time.
Tick rate: The raffle timer fires every minute; the draw executes on the first tick after the next-draw time has passed.
Property list display: The stone's tooltip shows the next drawing time tagged “UTC”. The in-gump description states the draw runs “every 7 days and draws at 9pm EST”. These two statements are inconsistent with the configured draw hour of 17:00; the effective draw hour depends on the host's local time zone.
Drawing Logic
If no players have entered when the draw fires, the pool, entry list, and IP table are cleared and the next draw is rescheduled with no winner.
Otherwise a winning index is selected at random from the entry list. The player at that index wins. Because each entry adds the player to the list once, buying more entries on a character increases that character's win probability proportionally.
Payout
The timer attempts five delivery methods in order, stopping at the first that succeeds:
Account deposit: the prize is deposited to the winner's account gold.
Bank box: a bank check for the full prize is dropped into the player's bank box.
Backpack: the bank check is added to the player's backpack.
At feet: the bank check is dropped at the player's location on the world map.
Failure: if none succeed, an error is logged and the player is messaged to page staff.
After a successful draw the stone records the last winner, last prize amount, and last draw date. If the prize exceeds the prior record, the largest prize, largest prize winner, and largest prize date are also updated. The win is announced via Discord and a world-wide broadcast.
Stone Properties
Staff can configure the following on the Gold Raffle stone:
Enabled - master switch; setting true (re)starts the timer.
Cost To Enter - gold per entry (minimum 1).
Raffle Time - period between drawings (default 7 days).
Current Prize, Number Of Entries, Next Draw, Winning Number - current-cycle state.
Last Prize Amount, Last Winner, Last Drawn - prior drawing.
Largest Prize, Largest Prize Winner, Largest Prize Date - all-time record.
Stone Placement
Raffle stones are placed at major hubs such as Britain Bank, Luna Bank, and The Emporium. Look for the labelled stone at any of these locations to enter the current drawing.
