Table of Contents

The Auto Looter scans nearby corpses (and optionally ground items), filters their contents against your personal preferences, drops matching items into a loot bag, and sends any looted gold straight to your bank box. Your settings, custom lists, and loot bag / master key choices stay with your character across logouts and server restarts.

Commands

Command What it does
[AutoLoot Runs one loot pass against corpses (and ground items, if enabled) within 5 tiles. There is a 3-second cooldown between hotkey uses.
[Grab Same as [AutoLoot.
[AutoLoot options or [Grab options Opens the Sosaria Auto Looter configuration gump.
[AutoLootToggle Flips between Automatic and Hot Key mode without opening the gump.

The first time you run any of these commands, the Auto Looter is attached to your character and one loot bag (hue 1266, weight 0, named “a loot bag”) is placed in your backpack.

Operating Modes

The looter has two modes, selected by radio buttons in the gump's Method sidebar.

Mode Description
Automatic A loot pass runs every 4 seconds. The timer stops when you log out and restarts automatically the next time you log in.
Command / Hot Key No timer. Each [AutoLoot / [Grab command runs exactly one loot pass, limited to one use every 3 seconds.

The green check Apply button commits all your changes and handles the mode switch. The X button closes the gump without saving switch changes.

Configuration Gump

The gump is a single page. Closing it or using any target-cursor button re-opens it after the action completes, so you can chain configuration steps without re-typing the command.

Filters: Jewelry — Skill Thresholds

These only apply when Jewelry is enabled. They check the jewel's five skill bonuses. Only one threshold filter applies per jewel — combining them does not stack as AND.

Label Requires
Under +10 Skill At least one skill bonus ≥ 10.
Under +10/+10 Skill At least two skill bonuses ≥ 10.
Under +12 Skill At least one skill bonus ≥ 12.
Under +12/+12 Skill At least two skill bonuses ≥ 12.
Under +15 Skill At least one skill bonus ≥ 15.
Under +15/+15 Skill At least two skill bonuses ≥ 15.

Filters: Jewelry — Required Attributes

Checked before the skill thresholds. Any single failing requirement rejects the jewel.

Label Requires
Without FC Faster Casting > 0.
Without FCR Faster Cast Recovery > 0.
Without SDI Spell Damage Increase > 0.
Without SSI Swing Speed Increase > 0.
Without HCI Hit Chance Increase > 0.
Without DI Damage Increase > 0.

Loot Behavior

Label Behavior
Loot Everything (Ignore Filters) Loots every movable item (except Treasure Map Chests), ignoring all filters.
Emote When Jewel Looted When a jewel is moved to the loot bag, plays a sound (811 female, 1085 male) and emotes *oooh*.
Key Items When Overweight After each loot pass, if a Master Key is assigned and your total weight is within 100 stones of your maximum, the Master Key automatically siphons configured items into its linked storage keys.
Loot Ground Items Ground items within scan range are picked up too. Treasure Map Chests are always excluded.

Loot Bag

The Loot Bag sub-section has two buttons:

If your loot bag is missing or no longer on you when a pass runs, the looter will fall back to the first loot bag in your backpack, or your backpack itself.

Master Key

The Master Key sub-section lets you target a Master Item Store Key to wire to the looter. It is only used when Key Items When Overweight is enabled and you are at or near your maximum weight. The Clear button unassigns the master key.

Custom Lists

Four parallel lists let you specify exactly what to grab, beyond the category checkboxes.

List Matches on
Looting By Type The item's class type.
Looting By Item ID A specific item ID (graphic).
Looting By Name The item's name (exact, case-sensitive match).
Looting By Hue A specific hue.

Each list has Add, Remove, and Clear buttons plus a text entry field. To add or remove an entry:

If an item matches any custom list, it is looted regardless of the category filters.

How a Loot Pass Works

Each pass (automatic tick or hotkey press):

  1. You must be alive. (“It might be easier to loot something without ghost hands…”)
  2. The loot bag is re-resolved if it's missing.
  3. The looter scans every accessible item within 5 tiles, requiring line of sight.
  4. Per-pass caps: at most 100 corpses and 100 ground items are queued, with a hard cap of 200 total items scanned. If a cap is hit, you're told the remainder will roll to the next pass.
  5. Corpses are processed first, then ground items.
  6. If Key Items When Overweight is on, the Master Key fill runs once at the end.

Corpse Eligibility

The Auto Looter will not loot:

Creatures with Fame ≤ 1000 are always freely lootable. Higher-fame corpses must pass the normal loot-rights check, and looting must not flag you as a criminal. If any non-party player is on the corpse's aggressor list with rights, the Auto Looter will refuse it. Guild and alliance membership do not grant Auto Looter rights — only party membership does.

Empty corpses are skipped, unless Hides/Scales is on and the corpse hasn't been carved yet — in that case the carve still runs.

Two-Pass Corpse Processing

For each eligible corpse:

  1. Pass 1 — loot existing contents:
    • Gold goes straight to your bank box.
    • Containers go to your feet if Drop Containers To Feet is on.
    • Bone Piles and Rib Cages (with Resources on) are consumed and replaced with a single Bone in the loot bag.
    • Everything else that passes your filters and fits (weight + slot count) goes into the loot bag.
  2. Pass 2 — carving — runs only when:
    • Hides/Scales is on,
    • Pass 1 didn't run out of room,
    • the corpse isn't already carved or animated, and
    • the owner is a non-summoned, non-bonded, non-player creature with at least one of feathers, wool, meat, hides, scales, or fur.
The corpse is carved, and any newly produced items are filtered and picked up.
- **Cleanup** — empty corpses are deleted, corpses with nothing you want are deleted, corpses you couldn't fully loot due to capacity are left in place, and otherwise the corpse is deleted.

Ground Items

When Loot Ground Items is on, ground items in scan range run through the same filters as corpse contents. Gold on the ground is also banked. Treasure Map Chests are never picked up by the Auto Looter.

Persistence

All of your switches, custom lists, the loot bag reference, the master key reference, and your mode setting are saved with your character at every world save. If you're in Automatic mode, the timer restarts automatically after a server restart — you don't have to re-enable anything.
